DAI NGAI 2 BRIDGE OFFICIALLY OPEN TO TRAFFIC - COMPLETING A STRATEGIC CONNECTION AXIS IN THE MEKONG DELTA

12/05/2025Construction
On May 12, 2025, the Dai Ngai 2 Bridge — part of the Dai Ngai Bridge Construction Project on National Highway 60, spanning Tra Vinh and Soc Trang provinces — was officially opened to traffic.

The project has a total investment of over VND 8,000 billion, funded by Japanese ODA and domestic counterpart capital. The entire route stretches more than 15 kilometers, starting from the intersection with National Highway 54 (Hung Hoa Commune, Tieu Can District, Tra Vinh Province) and ending at the intersection with National Highway Nam Song Hau (Long Duc Commune, Long Phu District, Soc Trang Province).

Dai Ngai 2 Bridge is 862 meters long and consists of 13 spans, with the main span measuring 330 meters constructed using the balanced cantilever method. Designed to meet special-grade traffic standards, the bridge helps alleviate traffic on existing routes such as National Highway 60 and National Highway 1A, while also creating room for urban expansion and logistics development across the entire Mekong Delta region.

As the contractor for the approach spans and the main river span, Dat Phuong undertook a significant volume of work. To ensure timely progress and quality, the company mobilized more than 100 personnel along with appropriate machinery and equipment, organizing three shifts across four work teams operating around the clock. Dat Phuong also flexibly applied various advanced construction technologies and techniques, such as floating concrete batching plants, external post-tensioning cables, and the installation of a bridge monitoring system — all helping to maintain effective quality control. As a result, the project was completed approximately four months ahead of schedule.

Once in operation, Dai Ngai 2 Bridge will help complete the strategic east–west transport axis of the Southwest region, reduce travel time, lower logistics costs, and expand the space for socio-economic development in the southern coastal provinces. The project also serves as a clear testament to Dat Phuong's determination and construction capabilities in the infrastructure sector.
